Fernando joined the American Eagles in 2004. A native of Guadalajara, Mexico, Fernando began playing soccer at age 4 and rose through the youth ranks playing in California and Texas. He still remains active as a player in an over-30 men’s league in Fort Worth.

Fernando began coaching in 1997, working with U6 to U10 players in California. After moving to Texas in 2001, he continued to work with younger players on a variety of teams, including Thunder, Chivas, Little Jalisco, Blue Thunder and Toluca. His Express U12 indoor team also won a league title. Fernando is the assistant coach of the 94 Girls White team and also coached the 94 Girls White indoor team. He is a popular skills coach for many age groups. Fernando currently holds a USSF “D” coaching license.
